Description
Genuine black soap is uneven, dark brown to near-black, and a bit crumbly — it is made by sun-drying a paste of ash from plantain skins, cocoa pods and palm leaves, then blending in shea butter and palm kernel oil. The smooth, evenly black soap sold in many shops is a factory imitation.
Good for acne-prone, oily and combination skin. Cleanses deeply without stripping. Many customers also use it as a shampoo for natural and textured hair.
First use: dampen the bar lightly and rub between palms to build lather — do not soak. Store on a draining dish; it will last 1–2 months with normal use.
